Frequently Asked Questions
After care procedure
After your tattoo session, purchase an approved tattoo cream/lotion/ointment/balm. Can either purchase from your artist or he/she will instruct further.
Once home, remove wrap and clean with water and unscented soap, pat dry with a paper towel and leave it to dry. For the next 24 hours keep it clean (water and unscented soap) and dry. After 24 hours you will be able to apply your approved product to promote the healing. This will be done twice a day or if your tattoo is really dry. It is important you don’t apply more than you need, this can cause issues with healing.
Continue the cleaning directions along with applying your balm etc. You will continue this until your tattoo is completely healed and smooth to the touch.
Until then, please keep your hands clean when applying balm etc and your tattoo away from swimming, bathing (spas, baths, saunas) or anywhere where your tattoo will be exposed to prolonged direct water contact. It’s also wise to avoid places like the gym and contact sports. Keep it out of direct sunlight as much as possible.
Your balm will not help the healing if your tattoo isn’t clean. If your tattoo is irritated and isn’t healing well after a couple of days, discontinue balm and consult your artist.
